Rodeo Registration

How to enter:

You must sign up online at nlbra.com under RODEO SIGN UP. If you have not created a username or password, you will need to do that first. Type in the child’s name you are entering. Click ALL RODEOS and then find the rodeo that you want to enter. Our rodeo is listed as MSLBRA. Select all of the events you are entering and click SIGN UP. You will be asked to type in your email for confirmation. Please make sure to do this! You will enter each rodeo separately. (So, you will complete this process twice if you are entering both Saturday and Sunday’s rodeo.) Then, go to the FEES tab above and pay your entry fees.

Online entries and payments must be done by Monday at midnight, two weeks prior to the rodeo. See schedule below for online entry and payment deadline dates. Late entries will close on Friday at 9:00 PM the SAME WEEK AS THE ONLINE ENTRIES CLOSE. Late entries are $30 per rodeo, per child and must be called in to the secretary, Ashley Eakes at 601-416-6658. Draw outs are due by Friday at 9:00 PM the week of the rodeo. Convenience/Office Fees will NOT be refunded. Stock fees will NOT be refunded after Friday at noon before the rodeo. NO PAPER ENTRIES WILL BE EXCEPTED!

Things to Note

  • Draw Out Procedure

    If you need to draw out of a rodeo, a doctor or vet excuse is required to be given to the secretary BEFORE the stock draw on Friday night of the rodeo weekend. If you become sick on Saturday or Sunday, you must give a doctor excuse to the secretary before the rodeo weekend ends. If drawing out via medical excuse, you must draw out of ALL events for the entire rodeo weekend. Convenience/Office fees are non-refundable. Stock fees are non-refundable after noon on Friday of the rodeo weekend.

  • Jackpot Payout Checks

    All jackpot payout checks will be mailed to the contestant the week after each scheduled rodeo. No cash prizes will be given to contestants during a rodeo. Checks not valid after 30 Days. No checks will be reissued. We will use the address you provided on your NLBRA membership, so if that information changes, you need to notify the secretary ASAP!

  • Local & National Points

    National Membership is required before entering a sanctioned Little Britches rodeo in order to receive national points toward qualifying for the National Finals. Additionally, MSLBRA Membership is required to earn MSLBRA points to be eligible for year-end awards. Membership application must be submitted and paid online before entering rodeo in order to received that rodeos points.

  • Stock Draw

    The stock draw is scheduled for 9 pm the night before the scheduled rodeo, or as soon as stock numbers are provided to the judge and secretary.

  • Minimum Qualified Rodeos

    Each contestant is required to participate in at least fifteen (15) MSLBRA rodeos per event to qualify for year-end awards! The NLBRA point system will be used for association points.

  • Rookie Status

    A rookie is a contestant competing in the first year in that age group. If you are a rookie contestant in your age group, notify the secretary of your rookie status.

  • Arrival Update

    Contestants/Parents can not arrive at the Rankin County Multi-Purpose Facility before 3PM on Friday afternoon. Do not stop, park, or unload your trailer in the fire lane next to the stall barn! The Sheriff Department will be patrolling and issuing tickets. For those using generators, early arrivals should park near the rear of Lot B. This will allow easy parking for late arrivals closer to the entrance.

  • No Tie Outs!

    No tie-outs allowed! If you tie your horse out overnight, you will be charged $50 per horse. This is a facility rule.

  • Work Schedule

    Every family membership is required to work a minimum number of rodeos to be determined when all memberships are accounted for. The number will be determined in the first rodeo mandatory meeting of the season. Work schedule sign-up and requirements will be available at the office. The contestants name will be provided on the Judges sheets. Arena Judges will be responsible for checking workers in. If member fails to work assigned event posted, the Judge will mark it on the Judge’s sheet and the member will owe a $100 fine, they will not earn their state points for that rodeo, and they cannot enter another MSLBRA rodeo until fine is paid. If member does not work ALL required number of events, member will be fined $1,000 and will not qualify for year-end awards until paid. If you are working inside the arena, you MUST be in western attire. 2023-2024 Work Requirement is 12 events.
